RTASA is working to ensure safe homes and communities for everyone.
RTASA is a non-profit organization that provides free critical health and safety repairs and accessibility modifications for eligible low-income, disabled, senior, and veteran homeowners at no cost, using the services of volunteers and contractors.
DO I QUALIFY?
We provide repairs to all low-income homeowners who meet our eligibility criteria, including seniors, people with disabilities, families with children, and veterans. Homeowners are helped on a first-come, first-served basis, pending availability of resources.
Homeowners seeking assistance must meet the following criteria to be eligible for RTA services:

Must reside in either Travis, Hays, Williamson, or Bexar counties. PLEASE NOTE: services in each county are dependent upon funding availability.

Must own a home and reside in the home.

Must be current on property taxes or on a payment plan.

Entire household must qualify as low-income and must meet the income criteria in the table below based on the number of people living in the home.

Step 1 – Review Eligibility Requirements

Step 2 – Request an Application
If you believe you meet the eligibility requirements, you may start your application by downloading the application form by program: San Antonio, Austin, Veteran
You may also request an application by calling our office at 512-993-8230 and leaving a voicemail with your:
- Name
- Phone number
- Property address
- County where the home is located
However, due to high demand, response times may take several weeks.

TYPES OF REPAIRS
We focus on critical health and safety repairs related to the seven principles of healthy housing: ensuring homeowners have a dry, clean, ventilated, pest-free, safe, contaminant-free and maintained place to live.
Our work on each home varies depending on our funding source and available volunteers and or/contractors, but often include:

WHAT TO EXPECT
Every project has a different timeline based on needs. RTASA will work with you to expedite your application process.
While repairs are completely free for homeowners, you will be asked to sign a release of information form. This form allows Rebuilding Together Austin to work collaboratively with other area agencies to provide the most effective and comprehensive services available to you.
